Noticeboard

Please stay at home if you can today (1st March). We suggest that you PHONE the surgery rather than try and attend. A doctor will be available to provide advice and assess your condition by phone, and then decide on the safest plan. Thank you.

pathhead pharmacy and Dalkeith pharmacy closed at lunchtime today due to weather conditions. Cameron toll and Boots pharmacy will be open until 7pm this evening.

MEDICATION IMPROVEMENTS - the practice is now running some prescribing improvement projects to ensure that you receive the safest and most cost-effective medications for your conditions. You will receive a letter directly if you are affected by any of these changes.

NEW PATIENTS - the practice is now operating a restricted list. Please look on 'new patient' tab for more information.

PRESCRIPTION CHANGES FROM APRIL 2017 - all prescription requests will now take 4 working days to process. Any urgent requests must go to the duty doctor. The email for ordering prescriptions will cease on Friday 28th May 2017. Please click on the 'prescriptions' tab for more information on how to order your prescriptions.

Temporary Registration

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
